My descendancy is from Robert/Isham/John Robert Southerland of Wolfscrape (near Mt Olive NC) I haven't seen any intermarriages with Bowens, but then my scope has been fairly limited. I don't know where this James fits in the lineage.
Duplin county has a map of original grants. I have located William S between Sarecta and Beulaville.
