My name is Karen Hunnings, and I too am researching Baldwin Halsey. I came across your name in Rootsweb.com and wanted to touch base with you. Your entry was the first that I have seen that lists his place of death and burial. Where is Rogers Family Cemetery?
My grandfather's grandfather was Baldwin Halsey Hunnings from Tyrrell county, NC. I have placed Baldwin Woods Halsey in Tyrrell County in the early 1800's, from an apprenticeship list for that county. I know that his brother, Joseph, was the town clerk for years there.
Thank you so much for this information---it really helps me put this fellow in a certain geographical area...I show him on the apprenticeship bonds for Tyrrell County, NC in 1810-11, listing his occupation as seaman. I had tried to keep up with his family and records, but could not find anywhere it listed his burial. I figured he might have been buried at sea.
